Balance Through Movement Method™ is a revolutionary approach to classical training, centered around treating and preventing nerve and spinal compression and solving undiagnosed lameness.

This performance training system is designed to help the horse achieve optimum balance and strength through the development of body and mind.

From trainers to Veterinarians, adult amateurs to backyard enthusiasts, this work is used around the world for rehabilitation, development and diagnostics.

Balance Through Movement Method clinics are intimate settings of 1:1 session between our certified instructors, the clients and their horses.

Every clinic is a unique learning experience centered around The 3 Pillars: Relationship to Connection, Center of Balance and Spinal Integrity.

Within these pillars, we dive into:

In-hand and under saddle exercises • Emotional regulation • Proper weight distribution

Truths about the Thoracic Sling • Nerve compression and how to prevent it • How to correctly align the spine

How to deactivate some muscles to isolate and activate others • How to increase range of motion in all 4 cardinal directions

How to teach your horse true self carriage through balance and correct development

Stacia Strong

  • Dressage and Biomechanics Trainer

  • Apprentice BTMM Instructor

  • Mooresville, NC, USA

  • stacia@btmmteam.com

Stacia Strong resides in Mooresville NC, where she is the owner and trainer of Southern Tier Equestrian Center. She turned her love for horses into a career at the age of 22 when she opened her first boarding and lesson barn. Fast forward through 20+ years of trials and tribulations of training and teaching in traditional methods with a background in dressage, Stacia found herself looking “outside the box” for better ways to teach her students and improve the relationship with their horses.

Her personal journey has allowed her program to evolve into mindful horsemanship, with science based rider biomechanics, that is always advocating for the betterment of the horse. Stacias kind and nurturing approach for equestrians of all levels along with her rider biomechanics experience makes her an incredible asset to the BTTM team.

Balance Through Movement Method™ [BTMM] combines in-hand and ridden training to achieve whole horse balance with a unique lens that is the missing link to help build and maintain soundness.

BTMM training methodology is designed to simultaneously release the compensatory patterns within the horse and then develop the body through toning both the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system.

This is achieved by:

  • Cultivating a positive relationship to connection, both emotionally and to the aids

  • Targeting and developing the muscles required for the horse to have correct center of gravity

  • Supporting spinal integrity

  • Protecting the body from nerve impingement

BTMM helps the horse reach true structural integrity, solving and preventing restrictions, lameness, and enhancing performance by restoring the missing gait cycle and achieving optimal range of motion within the body. Through the careful reprogramming of the body’s compensatory patterns with proprioceptive work and emotional regulation, mind-body integration is achieved.

The result: Horses that are sound not just in body, but in mind.
